Our group
was co-founded in May of 1992, by local playwright and African-American historian, Carridder M. Jones. We meet to read and celebrate the work we have created and to support each other. The women you will find
at our meetings are from all walks of life. They are women who love words and love to write, they have great imaginations,
sharp minds, and are wise and refreshing.
Meetings are held the first Thursday
of each month at the Highland-Shelby Park Library (reading room) in the Mid City Mall, Louisville, Kentucky, from 6:30 - 8:30
P.M. These meetings offer women writers the opportunity to meet, read, share ideas and create new work.
Women Who
Write sponsors creative writing workshops, a fellowship, lectures and a poetry and short prose writers contest annually
for women writers. Women Who Write can also provide a speaker for your special event or organize and
present a writers workshop!
Women
Who Write is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Donations are accepted to support our organization's mission, and are tax deductible.
